Dosti delivers and hosts a range of training activities which we feel will support our vision to ensure that our voluntary, community and faith sector are engaged effectively in work to develop stronger communities across Dudley Borough.

Since 2001 hundreds of people who work and volunteer in the Borough have accessed free training through Dosti. We have reviewed the way that we offer training, and have evolved a much more tailored approach to training, building on some key frameworks developed here in the Borough.

Nearly all of our training is FREE to participants, and expenses can be paid to volunteers for travel and/or care.

One-off courses available from Dosti for groups of 8 or more on request (subject to staff availability) include:

Facilitation Skills for meetings and events
Introduction to Strategic Partnerships and Strategies in Dudley Borough.

Dudley CVS, a Dosti member, offer a range of training and support to community groups and voluntary organisations. Visit their website for details.

Dosti’s training developments in 2008

In June 2008 we hosted a 2 day course for facilitators to learn to use Dosti’s Axis of Influence. 18 voluntary and public sector workers attended.
In November 2008 we will host a 5 day Participatory Appraisal Course for voluntary and public sector workers. The course will be run by Electric Palace (Walsall). Please note that there will be a fee for this course.
We are currently looking into building workshops based on training in Hull and Sheffield – How Your City Works and How Your Neighbourhood Works.
