Dosti is the network though which community, voluntary and faith organisations in the Borough work with others in the Dudley Community Partnership.
A key task of the Dudley Community Partnership is to work with the Council to prepare and implement a Community Strategy with the aim of improving the quality of life for all people living in the borough.
Dudley’s first Community Plan covered the years 2000-2005, and during that time, many improvements were achieved for the borough. Please see the attached document at the bottom of this page.
Between February 2004 and December 2005, Dosti played an important role in involving around 5,000 local people in the Dudley Borough Challenge, which was the name given to the process of reviewing the old Community Plan and of writing a new Community Strategy, commencing in 2005.
Go to 2004: Developing the Community Strategy to find out how we used an unusual way to involve hundreds of people in thinking about life in the year 2020.
See 2005: Consultation to find out how we involved even more people to develop the draft strategy into a final version.
Everyone involved in the Borough Challenge has given their ideas and views for the future vision for the Borough and the local area in which they live or work. We believe Dudley’s new Community Strategy reflects widespread public priorities and needs.
Dudley Community Partnership is committed to focusing upon these needs, with the continued engagement of local residents and communities throughout this time. In many ways, the challenge ahead intensifies as we implement the key actions contained in this strategy. See Local Area Agreements for more information about developing plans.
