The Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) is a document which includes information on how and when members of the public can get involved in all aspects of planning, whether it is commenting on individual applications or being part of policy formulation. Dudley Council is required to conform to this document in undertaking its statutory planning functions.
A committment in the document is that the Council will convene a Focus Group once a year. The purpose of the group is to monitor the implementation of the Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) in relation to Dudley MBC Planning Department's Local Development Framework and Development Control activities.

The first meeting of the Focus Group took place on Wednesday 10 October 2007. Local residents and representatives from community and voluntary organisations were invited by Dudley Council and Dosti.
