The Planning BillThe Planning Bill was published on 27th November. The Bill builds on the proposals set out in the Planning White Paper and introduces a new system for major national infrastructure projects, together with further reform of the planning system. The Bill includes proposals for a new Community Infrastructure Levy which will allow councils to set charges on new developments to contribute to infrastructure like roads, schools and hospitals. The Bill would also abolish the need for Statements of Community Involvement in planning to be independently assessed.
