DBCF - Aims and Objectives Print E-mail

The Aims & Objectives of Dudley Borough Churches Forum are:

  • To act as an umbrella body for the Churches of the Borough who operate under the remit of Churches Together in England and to work with all other Churches in the Borough.
  • To enable Churches to share experience and good practice, and to encourage closer ecumenical working.
  • To encourage Churches and Christians to engage with the social and political processes in order to work for the values of the Kingdom of God especially in relation to issues of social exclusion.
  • To provide a vehicle for the Churches collectively to engage with Dosti/the Dudley Community Partnership.

Accountability

The Forum is a network and does not have formal membership. All churches and members of appropriate church communities are part of its activities as they wish. Through its quarterly open meetings the Forum is accountable to local Churches across the Borough, and to their members. There is oversight through Black Country Churches Engaged and Church Leaders.

Interfaith Network

The Forum shares some of its aims with people of other faiths in the Borough and so is pleased to work with members of other faiths through this Network. It is represented on the Executive Committee of the Network.

Communication

The Forum produces newsletters approximately every six weeks and has an e-mail circulation list for immediate communication. Anyone who wishes to receive these is free to sign up.
