'Dudley Community Partnership is a Local Strategic Partnership'. What does this mean? Print E-mail
The government has given local authorities the task of setting up Local Strategic Partnerships. Recognising that local authorities cannot tackle poverty in isolation, the Government has asked them to create a Community Strategy, in partnership with all the agencies working in their area. The agencies are: statutory bodies, public organisations, government initiatives, representatives from the private sector and from the community and voluntary sector – all the organisations which plan and deliver services to local people. Dosti is one of the organisations that are working as part of the Dudley Community Partnership.

The community plan or strategy is intended to identify the main issues in a particular area and prioritise them, so that they can be dealt with by the partner agencies.

Local Strategic Partnerships work at a neighbourhood level. They have to identify which neighbourhoods in their area have the greatest problems and devise solutions that are designed specifically for each neighbourhood.
