Dosti’s vision is of a voluntary, community & faith sector influencing decisions which affect the lives of local people. ‘Dosti’ is a word common across many Asian languages & means ‘friendship’.
Dudley Federation of Tenants and Residents Associations and The Centre for Equality and Diversity (CfED) are currently planning joint work to engage with newcomers living in targeted areas of Dudley to ensure that they have a voice in their communities.
Community networks affiliated to Dosti work collectively to tackle a huge diversity of issues which are important to the communities of Dudley borough.
Dosti supports representatives from the voluntary, community and faith sector to become more influential and to work with other representatives to influence change.
The Dudley Community Partnership (DCP) brings together many organisations including health, the police and the council, with businesses and the voluntary and community sector. One of their main aims is for all partners to work effectively together to improve the quality of life for everyone in the Borough.
Dosti is building a resource library of resources and information which we hope is of practical use to current and potential representatives and also to those who support and involve representatives.
