£6,000 was made available to the Community Cohesion Advisory Group to add to some work that they were commissioning to bring together people from different backgrounds and encourage speakers of other languages to learn English through non-formal, non-accredited activities.
£5,000 has been ring fenced for work to challenge myths and opinions about refugees and asylum seekers. Dudley Primary Care Trust and the Centre for Equality and Diversity have been invited to discuss ways to utilise this drawing on ideas in their proposals which involved raising awareness of issues faced by asylum seekers and refugees.
